Razor Reel has been active in the world of genre movies for many years. The website: www.razorreel.be is a worldwide reference. At the end of October 2008 a surprising own film festival was presented in the centre of Bruges. For five days movies and short movies were shown.
The first edition of the Razor Reel Fantastic Film Festival was a great success; therefore a second edition is coming up.
What is “Fantastic Film”?
It is a broad subject, which contains all kinds of movies. These movies can be somehow subscribed as followed: they are situated in an unrealistic world and/or the situation is so uncommon or extreme that this never happens in reality.
These movies are related to genres like: horror, science fiction, thriller, manga or fantasy.
The Razor Reel Fantastic Film Festival shows all of these movies and don’t be mistaken you will not only be presented with horror tales, but at the same time enchanting fairylike stories. As David Lynch phrased adequately: “Film is a magical medium that makes you dream…allows you to dream in the dark. It’s just a fantastic thing, to get lost inside the world of film” (David Lynch).
The Razor Reel Fantastic Film Festival (RRFFF) shows movies from all over the world, and off course homemade Belgian products!
Last year there were five Belgian and two European premieres. Also this year there will be many premieres and a surprising program, and in addition some other activities, like guests (directors, actors…) presenting their films, artists showing their fantastic art.
Just be there and enjoy the atmosphere because you never know what might happen. For example, last year when director Johan Vandewoestijne (Rabid Grannies and Lucker) talked about his new movie this ended in a nice chitchat, which led to several participants of last years edition, now helping with or playing a part in the movie. And that is just the impact RRFFF finds so fantastic!
