Terrific Zombies flick, Dead Genesis, gets in Under the Scares.

As report last week by Fangoria.com and others websites, legendary director and master of the Zombies flicks George A. Romero is now in the Under the Scares roster. Therefore Under the Scares director Steve Villeneuve was looking for a Zombie Flick to support the Romero’s words. ” I was looking for zombie footage to support the Romero interview. So I called my sales agents at Raven Banner Entertainment  to ask them if he know film that can fit in UTS. He didn’t hesitated and showed me Dead Genesis. I dug it and I email the director.”

Dead Genesis is a 2011 Zombies flick procuded in Canada. Its taking place 7 months after the dead took over the earth. ”Under The Scares sounded like a great project to be involved with in some capacity. It seemed very fitting to have our low budget horror film be featured in a documentary about making your own low budget horror film! Also, it was hard not to be involved when I was told our footage would be used during the Romero segment.” says Dead Genesis director Reese Eveneshen. “Romero was the primary influence over the entire Dead Genesis experience. The goal behind our film was to try and make a zombie flick that was original, but echoed Romero’s work more so than some other zombie films had before it. Make it a people film with zombies in it, rather than a zombie film with people in it. I feel privileged to have footage from Dead Genesis be apart of the Romero interview. When this project started two years ago, it started as a visual love letter to the Romero “dead” films. Naturally this is a little dream come true to be in some way connected to a project that he’s apart of. And again, it meant a lot to be involved with Under The Scares in general. ”
